We had family in town this past weekend and one of our trips was up to North Lake yesterday to do some fishing and see the colors. Pretty windy and the sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds. In between casts I shot a few images as the sun illuminated the trees. I rather liked this one. I caught more pictures than fish yesterday!
If the color in the trees weren’t enough to hint at the changing of the seasons this coming storm to hit wed/thurs will! The temps for bishop will only rise into the 50s and snow levels are supposed to drop to 5500ft as I read this morning for the eastern sierra. Our first winter storm of the coming winter season. Wind sounds to be a big factor and will likely devastate the current trees at peak up the canyon. Hard to say what the cold will do to the many leaves which are still green. I’ve seen it go both ways, either accelerate the color development or just make the leaves turn brown. I’m sure they’ll do fine and we’ll have a couple more weeks left of color from bishop to Conway summit.
