As I was leaving work I noticed the sierra wave towering above my head. With a few hours of light left before the sun slipped behind the Sierra crest I had plenty of time to figure out where to go.
We’ve been getting a lot of lenticulars over the last several days and that usually means wind as the two go hand in hand. I was after some black and whites and knew this would be sweet shooting. I headed for home to get my gear. A half hour later I was standing next to the Owens River in a warm gusty wind sizing up my options. I spent the next couple hours shooting in a wide open field which gave me some nice unobstructed views of the wave and some nice cottonwood trees. The three images below were all shot yesterday evening.
